The purpose of this methods section is give myself an outline of how im going to collect my data. It will help me, but also help the reader understand why I decided to do it this way, and how my results are affected by this decision. It will differ from other sections because I am now talking about how I will do my research, not what others have done. My goal for this paper is to gain some knowledge of how Im going to accomplish this. My target audience is for researchers iun this field.
A qualatative research method was chosen to guide this research. As to soley show the opinions of the participants and not have my own perspective interfere, I have removed myself from this study as much as possible. I have conducted interviews with student teachers from the Tuscarora School district over online chat. This has removed any influence I may have brought in person and allowed the student teachers to focus on the discussion. An interview/discussion took place. I asked specific questions but continually encouraged any feedback they had to offer that was not part of the question. Asking questions determines the path of the results by the researcher, who in this case is not in the position of investigating. Thus, I wanted to provide a discussion based conversation instead of dominating what answers I wanted to know. After all, my knowledge of this subject is limited. The opinions of those who have encountered culturally diverse students is what I wanted to bring forth. In addition, I wanted their ideas, not mine to be brought forth. After examining the data, I attemped to answer the question of how student teachers are prepared for culturally diverse students. I did this through various ways. First, I attemped to find a common theme among their opinions. I then began to look at the differences they displayed. Third, I inspected the new ideas they brought forth. Through this analyzation I came to the conclusion that follows.
the puropse of this paper was to confirm how this study will be done, why that way, and how it affects the conclusion. It helped me understand that I need to be more specific. I still have not consulted with my participants, so Im still waiting for the ok. I think it helped my readers understand what I want to do and why. But it is vague so ill get the details in soon.
